Breast implants have been used safely since the 1960's. Not all patients are ideal candidates for implants. If a patient is thin skinned and has very little breast tissue, saline implants may produce unsightly rippling of the skin in the upper pole of the breast. This can be avoided with silicone implants or by placing the implant under the chest muscle. Dr. Taub is very experienced and has been performing breast augmentations since 1963. His preference is a periareolar approach which produces almost invisible scars. As a sculptor, this operation has been a natural for him.
