Dr. Taub - Correction of Gynecomastia in NYC

Gynecomastia is not uncommon and has been found in 35% of all adult males. Many men are embarrassed by the "feminine" appearance of their chest. The condition tends to be progressive with advancing age. Surgical Treatment for gynecomastia can easily be performed in an outpatient facility. Generally, the fullness of the chest is caused by fatty tissue and liposuction can be an effective treatment. The incision for liposuction (about 1/4 inch wide) is hidden in the upper crease between the chest and the arm. If there is glandular tissue causing the nipple areola complex to protrude, then surgical removal is required. In this case, the incision is made in the under part of the areola where it blends in with the normal, surrounding skin. Patients are usually enormously satisfied with the results.
